Breeders tour through Australia
November 12, 2019 was finally the day! For a three-week breeder trip we went to Australia to make more contacts and to find new and proven genetics. My Australian business partner and I visited many breeders, had a long exchange about the special animals, learned a thing or two and were thrilled by the quality of the animals that some breeders have grown over the years.
The trip finally ended with the Annual General Meeting of the Australian Wagyu Association, where many important topics were discussed and interesting workshops were offered - especially performance recording was very important. In Australia, facts count and not assumptions. For this reason, the country is very far ahead in this area, as breeders there are making very good breeding progress due to the organized and sometimes very detailed data collection.
All in all it was a very interesting and informative breeder trip! There are now a few more projects coming up and I would like to thank everyone who supported me.
